Credits & Paid Voting
Learn how Vote Credits allow communities to create premium polls and encourage member engagement.
ReactionBot allows poll creators to assign an optional Vote Credit cost to participate in a poll. Instead of allowing unlimited free voting, communities can require members to spend Vote Credits before their vote is counted.
What Are Vote Credits?
Vote Credits are a virtual currency used by ReactionBot's Voting system.
Communities can distribute Vote Credits to members and use them to create premium polls where participation has a cost.
Free vs Paid Polls
Most polls are completely free and allow anyone to vote.
If a Vote Credit cost is configured, members must have enough available credits before they can participate.
Vote Costs
Each poll can define how many Vote Credits are required for a single vote.
When a member successfully votes, the required number of credits is automatically deducted from their balance.
Insufficient Credits
If a member does not have enough Vote Credits, their vote will not be accepted.
ReactionBot notifies the member so they know additional credits are required before participating.
Community Uses
Vote Credits can be used for premium community polls, contests, feature requests, supporter rewards, tournaments, and other engagement systems where voting has value.
Many communities also use Vote Credits as rewards for participating in events, competitions, or other server activities.
Managing Vote Credits
Vote Credits are managed separately from the Voting system.
Administrators can grant credits to members, while users can view their available balance before participating in paid polls.
