Logger

Configure ReactionBot to record important server activity such as edited and deleted messages.

ReactionBot Logger helps moderators track important server activity by posting organized log messages into a selected Discord channel. Logger settings are managed from the ReactionBot dashboard, where you can choose which events should be recorded and where those logs should be sent.

What Logger Does

Logger records supported server events and posts them into the channel selected in your dashboard settings.

Each log includes the most useful available information, such as the member involved, the affected channel, and the relevant message content.

Logger is designed to give moderators clearer visibility without requiring them to constantly watch every channel.

Available Logger Events

ReactionBot currently supports edited-message and deleted-message logging.

Additional server activity and moderation events may be added as Logger continues to expand.

Edit Logs

Edit Logs record when a member changes the content of an existing message.

The log includes the message author, the channel, the content before the edit, the content after the edit, and a jump link when the original message is still available.

Delete Logs

Delete Logs record when a message is removed from a monitored channel.

The log includes the original author, the channel, and the deleted message content when that information is available to ReactionBot.

Setting Up Logger

Open the ReactionBot dashboard, choose your server, and enter the Logger section.

Select the Discord channel where Logger should post its entries.

Enable the events you want ReactionBot to record, then save the configuration.

Choosing a Log Channel

Use a private moderation channel that normal members cannot access.

ReactionBot must be able to view the channel, send messages, embed links, attach files when needed, and read message history.

Avoid using a busy public channel, as frequent logs can become difficult for moderators to review.

Free and Premium Usage

Free servers can use edit and delete logging with a daily event allowance.

Premium removes the daily Logger event limit, making it better suited to active or larger communities.

Required Permissions

ReactionBot requires View Channels, Send Messages, Embed Links, Attach Files, and Read Message History in the selected log channel.

View Audit Log may support certain moderation-related context, but Discord does not always provide reliable information about who edited or deleted a message.

Privacy and Limitations

ReactionBot can only log information that Discord provides to the bot at the time of the event.

Messages deleted while ReactionBot is offline, unable to view the channel, or missing required data may not be recoverable.

Attachments, embeds, or other message elements may not always be represented exactly as they originally appeared.

Troubleshooting

If Logger stops posting, confirm that Logger is enabled and that the selected channel still exists.

Verify that ReactionBot can view the log channel, send messages, embed links, attach files, and read message history.

Check whether the free daily Logger allowance has been reached, and review the Logger Not Working guide for a complete diagnosis.
