Logger Not Working

Diagnose why edit or delete logs are not appearing in your selected Discord channel.

If Logger is enabled but no entries are appearing, the issue is usually caused by a missing permission, an invalid logger channel, a disabled event, or the Free plan daily limit being reached.

1. Confirm Logger Is Enabled

Open the ReactionBot dashboard and select your server.

Enter the Logger section and verify that Logger is enabled.

Make sure the specific event you are testing, such as Edit Logs or Delete Logs, is also enabled.

2. Check the Selected Logger Channel

Confirm that a valid Discord channel is selected for Logger output.

If the channel was deleted, renamed, or made inaccessible to ReactionBot, logs may stop posting.

Select the channel again in the dashboard and save the configuration.

3. Verify Logger Channel Permissions

ReactionBot must have View Channels, Send Messages, Embed Links, Attach Files, and Read Message History in the selected logger channel.

Channel-specific permission overrides can block Logger even when the server role appears correctly configured.

4. Verify Source Channel Access

ReactionBot must also be able to view the channel where the edit or deletion occurs.

If the bot cannot access the source channel, it may not receive enough information to create the log.

5. Check the Free Daily Limit

Free servers have a daily allowance for edit and delete logger events.

Once the allowance is reached, additional logs will not be posted until the daily limit resets.

Premium provides unlimited edit and delete logging.

6. Test the Correct Event

For Edit Logs, send a normal text message and then change its content.

For Delete Logs, send a normal text message and then delete it.

Messages created by bots, unsupported message types, or events that occur while ReactionBot is offline may not produce a log.

7. Understand Logger Limitations

ReactionBot can only log information Discord provides while the bot is online and able to access the channel.

Messages deleted before ReactionBot sees them may not be recoverable.

Discord does not always provide reliable information about who deleted a message.

8. Run /diagnose

Run /diagnose in the affected source channel and review any missing permissions.

Also verify the logger channel permissions manually, because the source channel and logger channel may have different overrides.

Still Not Working?

Disable and re-enable the affected Logger event, reselect the logger channel, and save the dashboard configuration again.

If the issue continues, contact ReactionBot support with the server name, affected channel, Logger settings, and the results from /diagnose.
