Event Limitations
Understand the current limitations of ReactionBot Events and what to expect from supported event features.
ReactionBot Events is designed to automate reaction-based activities inside Discord while remaining reliable and easy to manage. Some features depend on Premium, Discord permissions, or event configuration, and there are a few limitations to be aware of before creating events.
Only Future Events Are Managed
ReactionBot only manages events that are created after the Events system has been configured.
Existing Discord messages or historical reactions cannot be converted into past events.
Discord Permission Requirements
Events rely on the required Discord permissions to create messages, monitor reactions, and manage event activity.
If required permissions are removed or channel overrides prevent access, events may not function correctly.
Reaction-Based Participation
Members join events by reacting to the event message.
If reactions are disabled in the channel or members cannot add reactions, they will not be able to participate.
Active Events
Live events cannot be deleted while they are running.
Wait for the event to finish before removing it from the Event Manager.
Event Editing
Upcoming events can be edited before they begin.
Once an event is active, changing its configuration may not affect participants who have already joined.
Historical Participation
ReactionBot tracks participation while an event is active.
It does not reconstruct participant lists from reactions that occurred before the event started.
If Something Isn't Working
Most event issues are caused by missing permissions, Premium-only settings, or incomplete event configuration.
Review the Event Permissions and Troubleshooting guides if an event doesn't behave as expected.
