Limit Reactions
Limit how many reactions each member can place on a message before ReactionBot removes additional reactions.
Limit Reactions controls the maximum number of reactions a member may add to a single message. Once the configured limit has been reached, any additional reactions are automatically removed by ReactionBot.
What Limit Reactions Does
Each member is allowed to add reactions up to the configured limit.
When a member exceeds that limit, ReactionBot automatically removes any additional reactions they attempt to add.
Other members are unaffected and have their own independent reaction limit.
How It Works
If the limit is set to 2, a member may react with two different emojis on the same message.
Attempting to add a third reaction causes ReactionBot to immediately remove the newly added reaction.
If the member removes one of their existing reactions, they are free to add another.
Channel Limits
A channel reaction limit applies only to the channel where it is configured.
Different channels can use different reaction limits depending on their purpose.
Channel reaction limits are available on the Free plan.
Global Limits
Global reaction limits apply across supported channels in your server.
This provides consistent reaction moderation without creating individual rules for every channel.
Global reaction limits require ReactionBot Premium.
Using the /limitreaction Command
Run /limitreaction and choose the maximum number of reactions each member may place.
The limit takes effect immediately after the command completes.
Using the Dashboard
Reaction limits can also be configured from the ReactionBot dashboard.
Navigate to Reaction Control, select the desired channel, and configure the maximum reactions allowed.
Premium servers may also configure a Global Reaction Limit.
Removing a Reaction Limit
Use /clearreactionlimit to remove an active reaction limit.
You can also delete or disable the rule from the dashboard.
Common Uses
Reduce reaction spam in announcement channels.
Keep voting reactions clean.
Prevent users from reacting with dozens of emojis.
Encourage meaningful reactions instead of reaction flooding.
Required Permissions
ReactionBot requires View Channels, Read Message History, and Manage Messages.
Without Manage Messages, additional reactions cannot be removed.
Troubleshooting
If members can exceed the configured limit, run /diagnose in the affected channel.
Verify that ReactionBot has Manage Messages and that no channel permission overrides are preventing moderation.
Also ensure the reaction limit rule is enabled.
