ReactionBot Documentation

Restrict Reactions

Prevent specific members from adding reactions in a channel or across your server.

Restrict prevents selected members from adding reactions. Unlike Block or Allow Only, Restrict targets individual users rather than specific emojis.

What Restrict Does

Restrict prevents selected members from adding reactions.

Whenever a restricted member reacts to a message, ReactionBot automatically removes the reaction.

Other members remain unaffected.

Channel Restrict

A channel restriction applies only within the selected channel.

This is useful when a user should be prevented from reacting in one area of the server without affecting every channel.

Channel restrictions are available on the Free plan.

Global Restrict

Global restrictions apply across every supported channel in the server.

This is useful when a member should be prevented from reacting anywhere in the community.

Global restrictions require ReactionBot Premium.

Temporary Restrictions

Premium servers can optionally assign a duration when creating a restriction.

When the timer expires, the restriction is removed automatically without moderator intervention.

Using the /restrict Command

Use /restrict and select the member you wish to restrict.

Premium servers may also specify a temporary duration.

The restriction begins immediately after the command completes.

Removing a Restriction

Use /unrestrict to remove an active restriction.

Temporary restrictions expire automatically once their timer reaches zero.

Common Uses

Prevent reaction spam from disruptive members.

Temporarily disable reactions during moderation actions.

Limit reaction abuse without muting the member's messages.

Reduce moderation workload during busy events.

Required Permissions

ReactionBot requires View Channels, Read Message History, and Manage Messages.

Without Manage Messages, restricted reactions cannot be removed.

Troubleshooting

Run /diagnose if restricted reactions are not being removed.

Verify that the member is actually listed as restricted.

Check channel permission overrides and confirm ReactionBot's role is above the affected member.
