Role Logging

Track every role assignment and removal performed by ReactionBot in a dedicated Discord channel.

Role Logging records every role assignment and removal performed by ReactionBot. Each event is posted to your selected logging channel, making it easy for moderators to monitor role activity and troubleshoot member issues.

What Role Logging Records

Whenever ReactionBot assigns or removes a role, a log entry can be created.

This provides moderators with a clear history of automated role changes.

Information Included

Member who received or lost the role.

Role name.

Action performed (Assigned or Removed).

Date and time of the event.

The feature that triggered the role change when available.

Configuring a Log Channel

Choose a dedicated moderation or logging channel from the Roles dashboard.

ReactionBot will automatically send future role events to that channel.

Private staff channels are recommended to avoid unnecessary clutter in public channels.

Why Use Role Logging?

Quickly verify that role assignments are working.

Review member onboarding activity.

Audit role changes without manually checking Discord.

Assist moderators when troubleshooting permissions or verification issues.

Relationship with Logger

Role Logging works alongside the main Logger module.

While Logger records message events, Role Logging focuses specifically on role assignments and removals performed by ReactionBot.

Required Permissions

ReactionBot requires permission to view the selected logging channel, send messages, and embed links.

If the log channel cannot be accessed, role events cannot be recorded.

Common Issues

If no logs are appearing, verify that a logging channel has been selected.

Confirm ReactionBot can view and send messages to the configured channel.

Check that Role Logging is enabled in the dashboard.

Best Practices

Use a dedicated moderation channel for role logs.

Keep role logs separate from message logs for easier moderation.

Review role logs periodically to ensure automated role assignments are functioning correctly.
